EVmatch Selects Epic Charging as Its Exclusive Charging Software Provider, Backed by Strategic Investment

MENLO PARK, CA, June 16, 2026 — EV charging software provider Epic Charging today announced that EVmatch, the Silicon Valley-based EV charging company specializing in multifamily and workplace charging, has selected Epic as its exclusive charging software provider. The agreement is reinforced by a strategic investment from Epic in EVmatch, deepening a relationship that began with a platform migration and now positions both companies to make reliable, profitable EV charging standard in apartment communities across the United States.

Under the agreement, EVmatch will continue operating under its own brand, now powered by Epic’s platform and a new dashboard and mobile app that improve the charging experience for residents and property managers. EVmatch brings deep customer relationships, deployment know-how, and the utility-program expertise it has built over the past decade, while Epic supplies the software layer, a division of labor that reflects a shared thesis:  EV charging solutions work best when specialists play to their strengths.

Built for the realities of shared properties

Multifamily and workplace charging carry operational demands that single-family and public charging do not, and the partnership gives EVmatch customers a software platform built specifically for them:

• Reservation-based access, EVmatch’s longtime differentiator, giving residents guaranteed time on shared chargers and letting owners serve more drivers with fewer stations.
• Dynamic load management to share limited electrical capacity across many ports, letting properties add chargers without expensive service upgrades.
• Driver authentication and access control, so charging and payments are customized for residents, employees, or authorized guests. 
• Enhanced reliability with real-time monitoring, OCPP-based interoperability across major charger brands, and U.S.-based customer support.

A partnership forged by the industry’s hardest lesson

The two companies were brought together by one of the industry’s hardest lessons. When Enel X Way abruptly shut down its North American operations in October 2024, a significant portion of EVmatch’s installed base of JuiceBox chargers was left without a reliable backend server. EVmatch partnered with Epic to migrate those chargers onto Epic’s OCPP-based, hardware-agnostic platform, keeping customers’ charging operations running. That migration grew into a full software partnership, an exclusive provider agreement, and now a strategic investment. Along the way, Epic also cleared a fast path for EVmatch to meet multiple utility reporting requirements and CTEP certification for charging payment processing, compliance steps that often slow multifamily deployments.
